Here is a review of my Dixie Chicks experience that I've
composed from several smaller ones I created. This is a letter I sent out.
I saw the Dixie Chicks Friday, (8/11/2000) night in Dallas, TX. I was quite impressed with how great the show was! I loved all the songs they sang. They all looked pretty good from where I was. I thought the giant fly before the show was fun! The stage was set up to look like a giant pair of jeans with a fly in the middle. They came out of it. Had to look fast to catch that part or might have missed it. That one was neat too. "Ready To Run" was the 1st song. They they also did several other hits including "If I Fall", "Wide Open Spaces", "Fly", "Tonight The Heartache's On Me", "Sin Wagon"(neat curtain effect here) , "Cold Day in July" (had 'snow' during the song), "When You Were Mine" and many others. A highlight was when they went to different places near the audience and did "Goodbye Earl." "Cowboy Take Me Away" was very well done as well. (It was a bit earlier) . Earl was during the encore. I guess it was about 2 hours long. I didn't have my watch. Overall it's a great show! That was definitely one of the best concerts i have ever been too! they rocked the house down!! The slide show of pictures was quite hilarious when they made fun of each other. They sang the Sheryl Crow song "Are You Strong Enough to Be My Man", and at the end it was great because they came out into the audience, Martie and Emily in the higher section and Natalie on the floor to sing "Goodbye Earl". Emily was closest to me. :) Was a great show indeed and I had a great time. This show sure was worth the 2 hour drive to Dallas, I can tell you that!! Well, I think I'll work on my website more. TTYL
This show was even better than the other one. It was a bit cold waiting for them to open the door, but was worth it once I got in. I had a great seat 3 rows from the floor section not too far from the stage. They had a contest for front row seats before the show and had the big fly too. I think that's fun and is good for getting everyone in a good mood to enjoy the show. Of course, they had their signature fly stage set up for this show as well. "Ready to Run" is always fun to get things going. Natalie has darker hair now. At least she did for this show. That was unexpected, but she still sounds great as ever. They did all their big hits and even did a special Christmas song with snow falling. "Good bye Earl" was near the end and that's when they spread out all over the venue to be closer to the audience. I was closest to Natlie and Emily was not too far above me. That was a pretty special moment for me. At the end they did a big bow and thanked everyone for a great tour. For now they will be taking some time off, but they will be back someday! I hope you can see them during the next tour and I'll try too also.
GO CHICKS!
